Lambert Engraving can take almost any photo and engrave it in a variety of materials from marble to wood. In order to get a good engraving the photo should contain a lot of contrast because we are working in a "black and white" format with the engraver either turning a dark material white as with anodized aluminum or a light material dark turning dark as with wood. The photo must be scanned in, converted to the format the laser engraver uses and then tested on a scrap piece to ensure it engraves well. Most photos convert very well and therefore Lambert Engraving charges a low $15 setup fee for these photos. However, some photos need a lot of restoration work or have a "busy" background removed in order to be engraved. In these cases Lambert Engraving charges a flat rate of $60 per hour to convert the photo for engraving. An estimate with a not to exceed cost will be supplied for each photo that falls into this category to ensure that you will have a complete understanding of the cost for each project.
Once the photo has been setup the fee is $.60 per square inch for custom engravings (prices for standard items include the engraving). An example of a 5x7 engraved photo is:
Standard Setup fee: $15
Engraving: 5 x 7 x .$60 = $21
Total 1st Engraving: $36 + Material
Each additional Engraving: $21 + Material
Lambert Engraving will be happy to examine any Photos you would like to engrave and give you an estimate for the cost to engrave.
