Frequently Asked Questions

We are happy to answer any questions you may have so please contact us if further information is needed.

Q: What type of engraver do you have?
A: We have a 45 watt Universal Systems CO2 engraver with a 12"x24"  engraving bed that will accept anything 9" tall.

Q: What materials can you engrave?
A: Most wood, "plastics" (NO PVC based products allowed), anodized aluminum, glass, and stone will engrave.

Wood -CO2 engravers work well on wood for both engraving and cutting.  Not all wood engraves the same with Alder being the best and open grain woods like oak being the worst.

Acrylic -  engraves very well and can be cut .

Anodized Aluminum - it will turn the engraved areas white so dark colors work best.  It will not affect the aluminum or the protective properties of the engraved areas.

Glass - a light etching will be engraved.  Very thin glass may break due to the heat generated.  We've never broke any glass but the warning still is in  place for any glass.

Metal - Can be coated and then engraved.  Results have varied with different materials so there is no guarantee that it will work on everything.  Metal can NOT be CUT or engraved into.
